We had another busy TAPPI conference and trade fair. Since it was TAPPI’s 100th anniversary, we displayed many old Clark & Vicario and Nash items in our booth.

Philip Wells and Doug Sweet co-chaired a session which featured four Veteran Papermakers and this was an enjoyable part of the conference. Left to right in the photo: Doug Sweet, D. D. Smith, Nicki Slusser, Harrison Watson, Boyd Curtis, and Philip Wells. Among the 4 papermakers there was 171 combined years in the industry. Also, between Philip and myself we have almost 80 years.

Jacqui brought over her home made cookies and included a German cookie recipe that was a few hundred years old. A special event was attending the TAPPI Awards banquet (with Jacqui, Doug II, and his wife Corinne) when Doug was awarded the TAPPI Engineering Division Technical Award and Beloit Prize. This is awarded annually to a single person, and had been done since the mid ’80’s.
